Abstract

Promoting Belonging, Growth Mindset, and Resilience to Foster Student Success deepens the conversation around noncognitive factors that significantly impact student success. Along with offering support for the development of learning mindsets, the authors guide faculty and staff in designing initiatives, programs, and assessments for use in and outside the classroom. Each chapter includes: (1) learning mindset stories highlighting how students, faculty, and staff members dealt with issues related to belonging, growth mindset, and resilience; (2) Questions to generate discussion among key stakeholders on what institutions can do to foster learning mindsets and promote student success; and (3) next steps for implementing institutional change.
