Abstract
With technology rapidly changing how students learn, faculty face the challenge of rethinking the common and current practices of higher education. In 2000, Hase and Kenyon proposed a new perspective on teaching, heutagogy, that creates a space where learners assume greater responsibility and control over the skills they master. In this issue of The Toolbox, learn how to embed heutagogy into your courses with activities that help students become self-directed learners.
