Call For Proposals

We are pleased to announce the Call for Proposals to present at the USC Educational Technology Showcase, to be held on Friday, March 29, 2019. The showcase is an exciting one-day teaching symposium spotlighting the latest in higher education technology used for teaching and learning.

How are you using educational technology in and beyond your classroom and what impact is it having on student learning? Are you using any tech tools in your research that effectively bridge into your classroom? We’d like to hear what innovative techniques and tools you’re using!  Submit a 400 word abstract to showcase the innovative tools and applications you’re incorporating into your courses!

This one-day conference will be a place for you to share your experiences in how you are using technology creatively and effectively in your teaching; hear ideas and recommendations in using technology in the classroom; visit with select educational technology vendors; and see demonstrations of currently available technologies. You’ll also be able to experience the latest higher education technologies hands on!  Conference participants will be faculty, staff and graduate students from any USC-system campus who have an interest in instructional technologies.

This highly competitive call for presentations is open to all who teach at any USC-system campus. Presentation formats may include 30-minute oral presentations in breakout sessions, hands-on demonstrations and electronic poster sessions. 

Proposal Criteria

We are seeking highly engaging, interactive presentations that leave audience members with a practice "take-away" -- something they may use in their classroom.  Please do not include any identifiable information in your abstract as they will be blind-reviewed.  Abstracts should describe the technology you are using in your classroom, how students are using it and the impact it is having on student learning. The abstract should be clear, succinct, grammatically correct and well-organized. Provide background information as to why this technology was selected. Describe any research- or practice-based pedagogical methodologies adopted. Describe innovative tools or techniques utilized. Proposals should not exceed 400 words.
