Columbia campus awards nearly 6,800 degrees

Systemwide, the University of South Carolina awarded almost 8,500 degrees



The University of South Carolina Columbia campus awarded nearly 6,800 degrees Friday and Saturday (May 5-6), including 4,921 bachelor’s degrees, 197 law degrees, 133 medical degrees and 104 pharmacy degrees.

Overall, the USC system awarded 8,464, bachelor’s and graduate degrees.

3 p.m., May 5, ceremony

Students from the Darla Moore School of Business, the College of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy and the Arnold School of Public Health graduate from the University of South Carolina. Remarks by Carolina President Harris Pastides. Vartan Gregorian, president of the Carnegie Corp., receives an honorary doctor of letters degree.

9:30 a.m., May 6, ceremony

Graduates from the South Carolina Honors College, the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Information and Communication receive their degrees during commencement exercises held on Saturday, May 6, 2017. UofSC President Harris Pastides delivers remarks. Barry Zegel, alumnus and general manager of CBS Television City receives an honorary doctor of mass communication degree.

3 p.m., May 6, ceremony

Highlights for the University of South Carolina commencement ceremony with the College of Education, the College of Engineering and Computing, the College of Social Work, the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management and the School of Music. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Manuel de Oliveira Guterres delivered remarks.
