The University of South Carolina Controller’s Office earned its ninth-consecutive certificate of achievement in finance reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 2019.
The association services the needs of over 20,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners.
“This marks the ninth-straight year that the university has received this award,” said Mandy Kibler, the university’s associate vice president for the division of administration and finance and the university controller. “This achievement continues to demonstrate the dedication of the controller’s office staff to ensure the highest integrity in financial reporting and continued commitment to being good stewards of the university’s financial resources.”
The university controller’s office gained the certificate, the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and finance reporting, for its comprehensive annual financial report. The university’s report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the association that include demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the document.
The university has garnered this recognition every year since 2012.
