The University of South Carolina Postal Services hosts two passport fairs during the fall semester in the Student Mail Center in the basement of the Russell House. The fairs are set to run from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 and Nov. 20.
The fairs allow UofSC community members to get their paperwork processed for a passport. To apply, bring the following to the fair:
- Completed passport application DS-11 from travel.state.gov, completed online or manually in black ink only and unsigned
- 2-inch-square color photograph taken within the last six months (Photo service is available for a fee)
- Original certified long-form birth certificate or other proof of citizenship, not damaged or altered
- Valid driver’s license or state-, military- or federal government-issued ID
The cost for a passport is $110, payable by check or money order only to the U.S. Department of State. For expedited service, add $60 to the cost. The execution fee payable to UofSC is $35 and can be paid by cash, credit or CarolinaCard. Photo service is also available for an additional $10, which would be added to the UofSC bill.
This service is also offered daily at the 1600 Hampton St. Postal Services office.
For more information on passports, visit the U.S. State Department website or call 803-777-3168.
