Parking and Transportation Services at the University of South Carolina reminds all faculty and staff to order your 2019-20 parking pass online ahead of the new academic year.
Faculty and staff can purchase a Z permit for $12 a month, a seniority-based parking pass for $20 a month (eight or more years of service required) or a reserved spot in either a surface lot or garage for $65 a month. Employees may only purchase one car permit. Current garage or reserved space holders paying by payroll deduction will have their permits automatically renewed and do not have to take any action.
The new permits will be distributed in late July and early August, as the current pass will expire on Aug. 15. Until you receive your new pass, you must adhere to the limitations of your current permit.
Motorcycles, mopeds and scooters
Motorcycle, moped and scooter passes are also available for $60 a year, which is separate
from the other passes sold.
Post-tax deduction
Effective July 1, all parking deductions for Columbia campus employees will transition
from pre-tax to post-tax because of a change in the federal tax law. Employees will
see this change in their July 15 paycheck. More information regarding this change
can be found on the Controller’s Office website.
Pro tip
After 3 p.m., you may park in any seniority lot on campus without being ticketed.
You may not park in metered or reserved spaces.
