About the program
The College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce a new initiative to support full-time faculty who have secured contracts for books and/or edited volumes. Textbooks and books under advance contract will not be eligible for these services.
CAS full time faculty who are in the final stages of preparing a book manuscript for publication and who can supply the dean’s office with a copy of their book contract are eligible to receive funds up to $3,000 to reimburse costs.
CAS full-time faculty may request funds to hire an individual to assist in verifying quotations, completing and checking citations, formatting references, tables and/or graphs, or other pre-approved services as needed. Faculty may also request funds to hire a contract indexer to prepare indices for books once the page proofs have been received.
Subventions may be funded under this initiative. Please note that $3,000 is the maximum amount for any services for a single book funded by this initiative.
Applications for this initiative will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. The request will be reviewed by the appropriate associate dean. Dean's Office notifications will be sent within 14 days of the form submission date.
