Move-In Ambassadors

July 18, 2023

Dear Carolina Faculty and Staff Members,

In just a few weeks, our students will arrive for another great year at the University of South Carolina. Among the exciting events this fall is the opening of our new Campus Village living-learning development, with more than 1,800 student beds, expansive dining options, academic support space, and other student-centered amenities.

As we prepare to welcome the largest freshman class in our history, we are also looking forward to the arrival of our returning students. USC Housing will assist more than 9,500 students and their families during the four on-campus Move-In Days – Wednesday, August 16, and Saturday through Monday, August 19-21.

This is where you come in. USC Housing needs faculty and staff members to volunteer to serve as Move-In Ambassadors who can help welcome students to their Carolina home.

As part of the Move-In Ambassador team, you will offer guidance and directions for students who are moving into residence halls on campus. Ambassadors do not move any belongings into the residence halls; you are there simply to offer a warm welcome and to guide our Gamecock families to where they can park and unload their vehicles.

Please consider signing up to be a 2023 Move-In Ambassador. You can sign up for a 3-hour shift on the date that is most convenient to you. Ambassadors will also receive an official Move-In T-shirt to wear during their shifts. University Housing will provide additional information after you sign up.

Thank you for helping our Gamecocks get off to a great start!
