An Exam Week Message from President Amiridis

April 24, 2023

Dear Students,

This week marks the final turning point of the semester – the end of classes, and the beginning of exams. We started this academic year together eight months ago, and we have covered a lot of ground since then! I hope you are closing out the year with a sense of accomplishment and pride in your efforts.

You may already have your summer plans in sight – vacation time with family, a Maymester or study-abroad trip, a summer class or internship, research projects, or perhaps graduation and first steps into your professional life. Whatever adventures lie ahead, please keep your focus first on the tasks at hand. Study well for your final exams. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and good food to stay healthy. Take breaks to walk around our beautiful campus and enjoy some relaxation with friends. And finish this semester strong!

If you need a study break tonight, please join us at the Midnight Breakfast at Gamecock Park on the second floor of Russell House from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The First Lady and I will both be there, serving up free pancakes, eggs and more breakfast treats. You might recognize some other familiar faces in the serving line, as well!

It has been a pleasure to spend my first year back at USC with all of you. I’ve enjoyed chatting with you on the Horseshoe (and yes, taking some photos as well!), meeting you in your classrooms and at campus events, waving our rally flags together at Williams-Brice Stadium, and welcoming some of you to visits at the President’s House.

Ero and I will miss you during the summer months, but we know that (unless you are graduating in two weeks!) you will be back in the fall with your batteries recharged and another great freshman class joining you.

Congratulations to our graduating class, and for the rest, stay well, and we’ll see you in August!

Michael Amiridis
President
