Invitation to Imagine Carolina

August 23, 2022

Dear Carolina students,

Imagine what you might say if someone asked you this question: How could we create a better USC experience for our students?

The opportunity to share your ideas is coming on Sunday, Sept. 11. Imagine Carolina is a one-day retreat planned entirely for the purpose of hearing from you, the students, about what suggestions you have for our university.

In large and small groups, we will be asking for your input on questions like these:

  • What could we improve in the classroom experience?
  • How could we reimagine the activities that impact student life?
  • How could we cultivate a better campus climate?
  • What would help you better prepare for and transition to your future careers?

We are asking for your opinions because you are the experts on the student experience at the University of South Carolina. We are inviting you to participate in open discussions and virtual polling exercises to exchange ideas with your fellow Gamecocks.

Meanwhile, your university's leaders - the president, vice presidents, and senior administrators - are committed to being there to simply listen. We want to hear what you have to say.

The event is open to current USC Columbia campus undergraduate students, but space is limited, so RSVP at the Imagine Carolina web page. We can accommodate up to 500 students - from all classes, representing diverse interests and perspectives - at this event. Future events will be designed for graduate and professional students as well as students at our other USC campuses.

Please plan to join us at Imagine Carolina on Sunday, Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. to  4 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Breakfast and registration will begin at 10:15 a.m., and there will be a break for lunch and afternoon snacks. Participating students will also get specially designed event stickers and an Imagine Carolina T-shirt, and they will be eligible for some special giveaways, to be announced at the event.

We look forward to seeing you - and hearing you - there.
