Adrian Fitzgerald Anderson, M.A. is an Artificial Intelligence Educator for the University of South Carolina’s Division of Information Technology. Adrian’s work centers on helping students, faculty, and staff understand and use artificial intelligence in ways that are ethical, thoughtful, and aligned with USC’s values. He designs AI literacy workshops, develops educational resources, and supports campus partners in exploring how AI can enhance learning while upholding academic integrity.
Adrian’s commitment to education is deeply personal. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Coastal Carolina University in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a focus on Academic Administration and Diversity, an experience that shaped his belief in education as a tool for access, equity, and transformation. He went on to complete his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at Appalachian State University, where he further developed his passion for student success, leadership, and community building.
Before joining the Division of Information Technology, Adrian served as Assistant Director of Academic Integrity at USC. In that role, he worked closely with students navigating academic challenges, developed educational programming around integrity and AI use, and helped the university respond to emerging questions about technology and learning. His work is guided by USC’s Carolinian Creed, particularly its call to uphold both personal and academic integrity in all aspects of university life.
Above all, Adrian believes in teaching beyond the classroom. He is passionate about increasing digital, academic, and ethical literacy, and about helping students develop the confidence to engage with new technologies responsibly as they prepare for life beyond USC.
