eLearning Services supports various academic technologies such as Blackboard, iClicker, lecture recording software, and more to meet the needs of students and faculty. 

Blackboard

Blackboard is University of South Carolina's Learning Management System (LMS). With Blackboard, you can:

  • Post and view course information and learning content.
  • Submit assignments and tests.
  • Participate in discussion boards, blogs and wikis.
  • Communicate with members of the class via messages.
  • Display and add to an active course calendar.

Lecture Recording Software

Instructors can use Zoom as a web conferencing tool as well as a lecture recording tool within Blackboard. Panopto can be integrated with Blackboard and Zoom to host and share class videos.

iClicker

iClicker allows instructors to take attendance and poll students in real time with questions projected in the classroom. With iClicker, instructors can:

  • Track answers.
  • Automatically add scores to the Blackboard Grade Center.
  • Allow students to review in-class questions for study.

DoIT support for iClicker systems is confined to providing university-specific software for the iClicker system.


VoiceThread

VoiceThread allows instructors and students to create online shared audio-visual projects. You can:

  • Upload images, videos or documents.
  • Record audio, video or text comments.
  • Invite students to create projects or add comments to existing ones.
  • Integrates with Blackboard to create graded assignments.
