Campus Conversation: Zoë Kaiser

“I’m currently the graphics chair on the communications team in Student Government. In this role, I create all the graphics for the @uofscsg Instagram account, as well as fulfill graphics requests for any Student Government initiatives.

I love running social media pages because it allows you to have your hand on the pulse of everything going on in the organization. Marketing on social media is such an essential way for student organizations to connect with students at UofSC, so almost everything that the organization does is shared on its social media page. I love how creative I get to be; even if I’m sticking to a cohesive theme, designing graphics and curating posts allow for so much creative freedom.

As an accounting major, I was worried when coming into college that I would not be able to follow my passions for social media, graphic design and marketing since they do not fall within my major. I wanted to be involved creatively in some way at UofSC and I am grateful to have found that this is completely possible here. There are so many opportunities on campus to pursue whatever interests you have or think you may have. I strongly encourage all students to join organizations and take advantage of opportunities to find a balance between major-related work and other interests.”
