Campus Conversation: Kate Gharib

"As the senior marketing assistant at the Student Life office, I lead a student team of three to four individuals who promote the student experience through Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. I plan content, capture photo/video at events and create marketing materials that best represent Student Life. Every student has a different path at Carolina, so our goal is to showcase all the opportunities there are to get involved. All of our content is created for students, by students. It truly is the most fun job ever!
I'm also involved in University Ambassadors where I serve as a presidential ambassador and mentor captain. My advice for someone looking to get involved is to shoot your shot and try new things regardless of how daunting they may be. As a freshman, I never would have imagined that I would be selected to be a University Ambassador. However, I was and it has been a highlight of my Carolina experience. This is where I've met my best friends, grown professionally and what made Carolina feel like home for me. I strongly believe there's a place like that on-campus for every Gamecock.
