"I think giving back to the Carolina community, especially during the holiday season, will help students understand why the holidays are called 'the most wonderful time of the year.' Everyone is ready to enjoy the holidays with their families and preparing to buy gifts for their loved ones. However, we often overlook the people in our own community who may not have the basic luxury of buying presents for their family this Christmas. Holidays are truly enjoyed when we give thanks and give back by lending a hand to people in need. Being part of the Carolina Service Council has taught me many things. I have learned to be aware of the community that I am living in and I have learned to respect people more. Being president of Carolina Service Council has taught me leadership, integrity and kindness that I am going carry with me wherever I go."
