The University of South Carolina will host some of the nation’s top political journalists for a panel about presidential primary politics Feb. 16, just days before South Carolinians head to the polls for the first of two primaries.
The panelists include Philip Rucker of The Washington Post, Valerie Bauerlein of The Wall Street Journal, Ron Brownstein of the National Journal and Craig Melvin of NBC News. Dean Charles Bierbauer of the College of Information and Communications will moderate.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Room 231 of the Williams-Brice building at Greene and Pickens streets. It will include a question and answer session with the journalists.
It is sponsored by the university’s College of Arts and Sciences and its department of political science and the Walker Institute of International and Area Studies. The S.C. Republican primary will be Feb. 20 and the S.C. Democratic primary will be Feb. 27.
