Understanding that one of the best ways to be a global university is to have faculty who are internationally recognized as experts in their fields, Global Carolina announces the Spring 2020 call for faculty international travel grants. Faculty applying for such grants are expected to spread the University of South Carolina’s reputation globally while presenting significant, high-impact research (as first author or equivalent) or making other prestigious contributions to their respective field at major international meetings, conferences, exhibitions and performances. The maximum grant is up to $1,000 and must be matched by the awardee’s unit.
Faculty seeking to further the internationalization of an existing course of the University of South Carolina, preparing our students to participate in a diverse, interconnected world and to face the challenges of the 21st century are encouraged to apply for a curriculum grant. The goal of these grants is to assist faculty in developing and implementing globally themed content to incorporate sustainable international education into the curriculum. Faculty are encouraged to create disciplinary and cross-disciplinary course modules, activities, projects and other course materials that implement the globalization of course content.
Curriculum grant and travel grant applications are due to Amanda Gay at ag65@mailbox.sc.edu by Feb. 14.
