The Peace Corps is seeking applicants to fill hundreds of requests for volunteers in programs worldwide to begin service in spring and summer 2020.
Peace Corps recruiters will hold an application workshop on Sept. 17 from 2-3:30 p.m in the Resource Library in the Study Abroad Office. Students interested in applying to serve after graduation will have an opportunity to ask questions about service, learn which programs best match their skills and gain valuable tips to guide them through the application process.
The workshop will be open to the public and anyone interested in attending can register on the Peace Corps website.
There are 27 University of South Carolina alumni currently serving as Peace Corps volunteers, and more than 397 alumni have served since Peace Corps was founded in 1961.
In addition to attending the event on Sept.17, interested students can contact recruiter Teagen Barresi at tbarresi@peacecorps.gov. For more information, visit the Peace Corps website and follow Peace Corps on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
