Each year, the University of South Carolina College of Nursing delivers innovative programs and opportunities- helping to educate the next generation of nurses. We depend on our donors to help us serve our students and expand as a leading College of Nursing institution. Donations of support provide an immediate and substantial impact on our ability to increase outreach, make student scholarships available, and provide an exceptional student experience. 

Giving back to higher education ensures the development of future nurse leaders and the growth of the nursing field. Dean’s Circle donor, Karen Wickersham shared, “I went to graduate school full-time, from 2007 to 2012, for my doctoral degree in nursing research. During that time, I benefitted from scholarships that supported my tuition and living expenses—scholarships that alumni, faculty, or members of the community donated to or established through endowments.” “Now that I am an academic faculty researcher, I believe strongly in giving back. It is my honor to be able to do both at the University of South Carolina, College of Nursing.” 

Creating an inclusive and equitable environment is a value our College strives to provide for every student. Established out of need, the College recently launched the Carolina Cares Cupboard which offers supplies like food, professional clothing, and personal care items to students who would otherwise not have access. With the support of monetary donations, the College can appropriately disseminate funds to areas most in need. Annual donors understand the importance and long-term benefits of supporting the College.

“Giving to the Dean’s Circle is a way for me to show my appreciation and commitment to our College and to support excellent initiatives that benefit our College of Nursing community of students, staff and faculty,” stated yearly donor, Robin Dail. 

Supporters of the College who would like to make a lasting impact are invited to donate at the Dean’s Circle level. The Dean's Circle recognizes donors who annually (July 1 - June 30) give gifts of $1,000 or more to the College of Nursing.

Members of the Dean's Circle will receive special recognition throughout the year, including:

• Exclusive events hosted by Dean Jeannette Andrews
• VIP guest recognition at every CON event
• Special recognition on the College of Nursing website, newsletters and more
• Annual reports
