Background

Lonnie has been with the College of Nursing since 2009 and at the university since 2001. He oversees the daily activities of the Center for Simulation and Experiential Learning (SAEL) which includes skills training, medical simulation training and orientations. He programs manikins, records scenarios, troubleshoots technical difficulties, trains faculty and students and helps develop medical scenarios. 

“I love the fact that I am helping students see situations in our lab that they won’t neces­sarily see while they are in their clinical. Scenarios can be scary, frustrating and embar­rassing for our students but at the end of the day, I hear them talk about how events happened, why they happened and what they need to do to prevent it from happening again. I am also proud to work with a talented team of people who are dedicated to delivering meaningful educational experiences."
