Professor Wins NSF Award For Research

Chemical Engineering Professor Earn CAREER Award

The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded University of South Carolina chemical engineering professor Miao Yu the CAREER award for scientists and engineers.  The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program, one of the NSF’s most prestigious awards, supports junior faculty members who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research coupled with stellar teaching.

Yu’s research group is focused on rationally designing or assembling nano-materials into advanced functional structures, characterizing nanostructures, understanding functioning mechanisms, and exploring applications ranging from solar energy conversion, gas storage for vehicle applications, to chemical separations. Their goal is to improve energy efficiency for fuel production from renewable sources.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
