Transfer Programs

Transfer students comprise over 15% of all undergraduates in the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing. Transfer to the college, and we’ll work hard to ensure you graduate in a timely manner.

Transfer Course Credit

In general, determining if a transfer course counts towards a MCEC degree program is a two-part process. The first part is to determine if the transfer course has a USC course equivalent via a Transfer Equivalency Table.  The second part is to determine if the equivalent USC course meets a MCEC degree requirement via the program’s Major Map.  For examples, please see Prior College Credits.

Special Transfer Programs

We have formal partnerships with other institutions to map-out transfer equivalencies and otherwise facilitate transfer student success. These partners include:

Complete 3 years at Columbia College, 2 years at USC, and earn both a BS in Chemistry from Columbia and a BSE in Chemical Engineering from USC.  Interested Columbia students should review the Columbia College 3+2 Pathway.

Complete 3 years at Claflin, 2 years at USC, and earn both a BS in Chemistry from Claflin and a BSE in Chemical Engineering from USC.  Interested Claflin students should review the Claflin University 3+2 Pathway.

Completes 2 years at Greenville Technical College and earns an Associate in Science and 2 years at USC and earns a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Information Technology.  Interested students should review the 2+2 Transfer Track.

Qualified students in SCSU’s Nuclear Engineering BS program can start taking graduate courses at USC while still an undergraduate via our special Nuclear Engineering Accelerated Graduate Program. This can reduce the time to earn a Masters or Doctorate degree in Nuclear Engineering.

Courses offered at Palmetto College campuses and USC Columbia are the same.  MCEC approves instructors and syllabi for their engineering and computing courses, ensuring student success upon transfer.  CSCE, ENCP, and ITEC courses are typically offered.

Many courses offered at USC’s comprehensive universities and USC Columbia are equivalent but use different course numbers. MCEC approves course equivalents, ensuring student success upon transfer.  Use the Home-to-Home Equivalency tables to match them up.

MCEC maintains articulation agreements with other regional partner institutions, approving instructors and syllabi for engineering and computing course equivalents. Agreements with these institutions help ensure transfer student success and support our accreditation standards.
