Award Winners

• Dr. Charles Brice won the Joseph M. Biedenbach Distinguished Service Award. This award recognizes service to the engineering profession while association with the USC College of Engineering and Computing. This service may be exhibited in the University of South Carolina, the State of South Carolina, the United States or internationally.
• Dr. Csilla Farkas earned the Samuel Litman Distinguished Professor Award. This award recognizes the contributions to those parts of the educational process other than research: distinguished and effective classroom teaching, curriculum or course development, teaching and development of instructional laboratories, development of significant instructional methods and general and overall contributions to the instructional objectives of the College.
• Dr. Guoan Wang won the Young Investigator Research Award. This award is to be provided annually to an untenured faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in recognition of his/her dedication and contributions to the research objectives of the College of Engineering and Computing.
• Dr. Kevin Huang won the Research Achievement Award. This award recognizes distinguish performance and accomplishments in the area of research within the College of Engineering and Computing. Consideration shall be given upon: sustained productive research activity, recognition of research achievement by peer professionals through publication in appropriate journals, conference proceedings, etc., recognition of accomplishment of having receive awards from together external professional societies
• Dr. Krishna Mandal earned the Research Progress Award. This award recognizes particularly distinguished performance and accomplishments in the area of research by a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of associate professor or assistant professor in the College of Engineering and Computing. Consideration shall be given upon: sustained productive research activity, recognition of research achievement by peer professionals through publication in appropriate journals, conference proceedings, etc. and recognition of accomplishments of having received awards from other external professional societies.
• Renee Jenkins earned the Staff Distinguished Service Award. This award is intended to recognize an individual with at least five years of service in the USC College of Engineering and Computing. They particularly expressed distinguished service to the College and/or the community while associated with the USC College of Engineering and Computing.
