100 Years of Visual Arts at USC

Founded in 1925, the University of South Carolina School of Visual Art and Design (SVAD) emerged during a transformative era for art and film. For 100 years, SVAD has cultivated experimentation, learning and innovation, building a legacy through the passion of our students, faculty and alumni.

This centennial celebrates the past while envisioning a bold future for artists, designers, and media makers embracing new technologies and ideas to empower artistic expression. We invite you to be part of our special centennial events, reconnect with fellow alumni, and look ahead to a creative future.
