Active Minds

What to Expect

Active Minds at USC is a student run, non-profit organization that promotes mental health awareness, education, and advocacy. The group is designed to utilize peer outreach in conjunction with the Counseling and Psychiatry Center to increase students awareness of mental health issues and symptoms of mental illness, provide information about available resources, encourage students to seek help as soon as help is needed, and to serve as a liaison between students and the mental health community. By promoting awareness and education, the Active Minds USC chapter aims to reduce stigma that surrounds mental illness and create an open environment for discussion of mental health issues.

Associated Student Organization (ASO): student organizations to which the University has delegated certain limited authority to perform specific tasks aligned with the University's mission. These groups are required to maintain a University Advisor who is acting within the context of their university employment.
