Engagement Details

National Society of Black Engineers

What to Expect

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) came into existence as an organization geared towards the recruitment, development, and retention of students in the engineering discipline. What has started as a small group of engineers at Purdue University has since evolved into one of the largest student run organizations in the country. We are a non-profit organization aimed at increasing awareness of opportunities in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields to the youth at neighboring high schools. The University of South Carolina chapter of NSBE also plans to attend conferences where our students will have a chance to network, develop professional skills, and market themselves to a variety of companies.

Registered Student Organization (RSO): student organizations that are independent legal entities from the University, have no delegated authority from the University, and do not perform functions on behalf of the university.

Term: Ongoing
