What to Expect
IRIS is a social, service, and advocacy organization for the LGBTQ+ communities at the University of South Carolina. Our members consist of LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff, and their allies. We offer an anonymous forum-style meeting place for discussion of LGBTQ+ topics affecting the community at large. We also offer a plethora of campus and community-wide events for the distribution of information and celebration of culture to the Carolinian community, raising awareness of LGBTQ+ people and issues, promoting acceptance and providing safe resources for all peoples who are members of sexual and gender minorities.
Registered Student Organization (RSO): student organizations that are independent legal entities from the University, have no delegated authority from the University, and do not perform functions on behalf of the university.
