About Me

Originally from the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina, I moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 2017 after living in various parts of North Carolina, Washington, New York, and even a brief time in Mexico.  My passion for international education amplified significantly in college, as I was able to study Spanish in Querétaro, Mexico for a summer long experience during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.  Having grown up playing soccer alongside my younger brother, what a time to be alive!  I don’t play as often as I did, but now you can find me playing kickball and volleyball in the area just for fun; walking my labradoodle Brooklyn near the Saluda River; or renovating my house.

For additional fun you can also find me chasing after another graduate degree and serving as the treasurer to my homeowner’s association and as a landlord to my first rental property.  Given all these years spent exploring my many interests, they have all led me to a fulfilling career in higher education.  I love working with students, and have been doing so since 2009!  Never did I suspect that I, a first generation college student, would ever work in a college setting, and thus enjoy the mentorship and engagement that goes along with helping prepare our next generation of leaders.  So cheers to the years to come, and to the positive impacts still to be had!
