Griffin L. Allen

Spring Hill High School
Chapin, South Carolina
International Business, Finance, and Political Science (second degree)

I've been able to take classes that allowed me to realize my true passion for international relations, gain valuable knowledge in a wide range of fields, and better understand the importance of interdisciplinary study to being the best in any field.

Story:
I came to USC not knowing what it was that I wanted to do for my career, pursuing a business degree with the belief that business might be a good, useful career option. Although I have decided not to pursue a path in business, what I have taken from my time at USC has been an incredibly academically diverse experience. I've been able to take classes in and seriously consider roughly half a dozen career paths through the flexibility of USC's course catalog, allowing me to realize my true passion for international relations, to gain invaluable knowledge in a wide range of fields, and to better understand the importance of interdisciplinary study to being the best in any field.

Post-graduate plans:
Next year, Griffin will be undertaking a third study abroad term in the UK at the University of Oxford thanks to a generous scholarship program provided by the Darla Moore School of Business. There he will be studying political science and deepening his understanding of international relations in order to pursue either a master's degree or a job in 2022.

Career goals/professional aspirations:
I plan to work in international relations, either in government or providing political analysis in the private sector.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
