Bridging Electronic Deadline - Fall, Spring, Academic Year

Funding for American undergraduates studying abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year.
Undergraduate students majoring in any field of study are eligible to apply for Bridging Scholarships. Japanese language study is not a prerequisite. In addition to scholarships, students are provided with mentorship and networking opportunities.
The annual deadline is March 15. Students expecting to study abroad in the following fall, spring, or academic year must apply by this date. Refer to the program website for details.
Please note: Students applying for Bridging must also complete the USC Education Abroad Application. The deadline for doing so is March 1 for fall, academic year, and summer programs. If your program begins the following spring, you must meet their Oct. 1 deadline in the year you will be studying abroad. Get more information from the Education Abroad Office.
Academic-year scholarships consist of a $4,500 cash stipend; semester scholarships consist of a $2,500 cash stipend.

Supports undergraduate students seeking to study a less commonly taught language abroad in a non-English speaking country (outside of Western Europe). $12,500 for a semester and $25,000 for a full academic year. Special summer program for STEM students: up to $8,000 for a minimum 8-week program.
Intensive summer language study in one of nine critical languages funded by the U.S. Department of State. The program funds eight to ten weeks of language immersion and cultural enrichment, including travel, room, and board.
Provides scholarships for U.S. undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia. Summer awards up to $3000, semester awards up to $5000, and academic year awards up to $7000.
