Offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan for a semester or an academic year.

Applicants need to apply through the USC Study Abroad Office.

There are two application cycles, one with a fall deadline for spring semester programs, and spring for fall semester and academic year programs.

Please note: Students applying for the Bridging must also complete the USC Study Abroad Application due to the Study Abroad Office. The deadline for doing so is March 1 (Feb 15 for programs that begin in the summer) for fall or academic year programs. If your program begins the following spring, you must meet their Oct. 1 deadline in the year you will be studying abroad. See link to Forms and Applications at sc.edu/studyabroad


Award Value

Ranges from $2,500- 4,000.
