The Division of Information Technology is working to make employee’s access to university systems more user-friendly and efficient. On April 1, 2019, many improvements to Human Resources and payroll systems will be introduced, along with easier ways to manage account profile information. Employee "account" information will be managed through one central web site, myaccount.sc.edu. Employees will no longer use vip.sc.edu. Instead, Network Username and VIP ID will share the same password, so you won't need to go to two separate websites and remember two separate passwords. You can also manage your Carolina Alert, multifactor authentication, and set your preferred university and personal email addresses at the new website.
Some additional things employees and students will be able to do at myaccount.sc.edu include:
- Account claiming process for new applicants, students, and employees will be simplified and streamlined
- A new application will be available to manage resource accounts (ADUMS will be retired)
- Individuals will have only one university-issued email account
Be on the lookout for more detailed information about this project, called Identity and Access Management. But remember, myaccount.sc.edu won't be availalbe until April 1, 2019.
