When does the IAM project go live?
The current plan forecasts a go-live date of April 1, 2019 to coincide with the launch of the university's HR/Payroll project.
How many email addresses can an individual have?
All students, faculty, and staff will have only one university-issued email address and one personal email address.
University-issued email address - This address will be used to communicate all office university business and to log into system-wide Office 365 services.
Personal email address - This address will be used to communicate with people that are not yet officially associated with the university (ex. pre-hire employees or student applicants).
What email domains will be assigned to new individual's email addresses?
The following table outlines the email domains that will be assigned to individuals that are introduced to the USC system after project go-live.

What is an affiliate?
An affiliate is defined in UNIV 2.50 policy on affiliate appointments [pdf].
Can I keep my current email address?
Email addresses assigned prior to project go-live will be grandfathered into the new system and will serve as the official university email address. If you have more than one university email address such as an @sc.edu alias and an @mailbox.sc.edu address, you will be required to select ONE address as your preferred email. A list of valid email domains that will be transferred can be found in the Email Domain Standard & Registry policy [pdf].
I have more than one email address. Which email will be my official one?
Individuals that have more than one valid university email address according to the Email Domain Standard & Registry policy [pdf], will be given the opportunity to select the email address that they would like to be the official one. There can be only one official university email address.
Example: if a person has an @moore.sc.edu and an @mailbox.sc.edu address, they can choose which one will serve as the official university email address.
Can I create an "alias" @sc.edu account?
No. Individuals will no longer be able to request an "alias" email domain of @sc.edu.
