Pedagogical Technology: A Virtual Escape

Description

This is a hectic time of year with many responsibilities and deadlines. Join the Research Cyberinfrastructure (RCI) department and the Office of IT to escape for a short, engaging, (maybe even relaxing), virtual experience.

The RCI and Office of IT are demonstrating virtual reality goggles. If you have a smartphone, please bring it along and you can download one or more apps to experience a walk on the beach, a hike through the mountains or swimming with the sharks (engaging – yes, relaxing – not so much!) The world is at your fingertips!

The workshop will be held at 1301 Gervais Street (IT-ology building), Suite 750. Feel free to bring your lunch. Please RSVP to mihalikl@mailbox.sc.edu.

About the Facilitator

Reporting to the Office of Information Technology, and working in close partnership with the Office of Research, the Research Cyberinfrastructure program (RCI) engages faculty and researchers across multiple colleges and campuses to help define and execute the research mission of the University of South Carolina. RCI works with researchers to improve their project performance and secure computing resources not only at the University level but beyond, to National Labs and other high profile HPC resources.

This event is co-sponsored by the Research Cyberinfrastructure program (RCI), Division of Information Technology and the Center for Teaching Excellence.
