2009 Cocky Awards for Best Super Bowl Commercial

Student Comments

  • Interesting (and scary) to see how many stages of development and it could all be cancelled at the end – or even that Conan might not approve. It always amazes me how young and laid back big time Ad agency people are (in a good way!)
  • I thought it was very nicely put together. The presenters were very candid about the whole creative process. They did a good job explaining all of the different steps. I liked that they showed the actual documents from the commercial.
  • It’s interesting that the two winners were so young when they won the award. It was cool to actually see the whole production of the ad and how many people are actually involved. There are so many little steps that you don’t realize go into it. They both gave some really good advice on how to do well in this field.
  • It was really awesome to see the whole creative process of making the Super Bowl commercial. They were really interesting, especially because they are in the ad business.
  • I thought the presentation was very entertaining and humorous. It was interesting to see how they originally had the scripts written and what ended up getting cut. I liked seeing all of the pictures and original scripts and outfits.
  • I enjoyed seeing the winners of the previous Super Bowl Cocky Awards. I liked how the Power Point was used as emphasis for the awards presentation. Most of all, actually listening to the recipients was very enlightening.
  • The presenters were really interesting and enthusiastic. They brought a lot of great visuals and clips from their commercial with Conan. I liked how they explained the commercial-making process…It was really cool!
  • The speakers were very knowledgeable as well as down to earth and entertaining. They told their story and information in an exciting and very interesting way. I enjoyed how they made their presentation funny and related to the students.
  • It was interesting to see how much goes into making a commercial and how long the process is. The editing process is very involved and requires a lot more approval than I originally thought was needed. The presentation was very informative and entertaining. The Will Ferrell commercial was also very funny.
