"My experience as a student as Carolina thus far has been full of excitement and opportunity. The unity at Carolina has helped me to adjust to not having much family around. I have been graciously adopted into the Gamecock family and enjoy everything that my relationship to and with the Carolina community has to offer. Many groups and organizations such as the Association of African American Students, Student Government, and the South Carolina State Student Association have played an intricate role in my development as a leader at Carolina."

The Office of Admissions is excited to share valuable information with students of color. We host several outreach activities to help high-school students prepare for the admissions process. We encourage students to speak with Tomeika Banks, Coordinator for Multicultural Recruitment and Outreach. You may also want to speak with one of our M.O.S.T. (Minority Outreach Student Team) members to get a student perspective. The M.O.S.T. team calls prospective students and attends special events and college fairs. You can contact M.O.S.T. via e-mail at admoutreach@sc.edu.
A number of organizations and services support minority students at Carolina. Multicultural Student Affairs provides many events, training, and education initiatives, such as the Minority Student Welcome and Minority Assistance Peer Program (M.A.P.P.)
