College of Pharmacy Honors Distinguished Alumni and Supporters

The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy has announced its 2025 Outstanding Alumni Awards, recognizing exceptional graduates and supporters who have made significant contributions to the pharmaceutical profession and the college.

Maribeth Kowalski, Pharm.D., 1995, has been named as the recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award. As senior director of Medical & Scientific Communications and Information at DBV Technologies, Kowalski has established herself as a leader in the pharmaceutical industry. Her dedication to the college extends beyond her professional achievements—she and her husband established the Paul and Maribeth Kowalski Endowed Scholarship and actively support initiatives including Give4Garnet and the college’s White Coat Fund.

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recipient is Kayce Shealy, Pharm.D., 2009, who recently became administrator of the SC Board of Pharmacy. Shealy served many years as a pharmacy educator and has been active in advancing the profession of pharmacy through her involvement in professional development organizations, having twice served as board chair for the South Carolina Pharmacy Association.

Jody Chastain, president and CEO of Ritedose Corporation, has been recognized as Outstanding Friend of the College. Under Chastain's leadership, Ritedose has demonstrated exceptional commitment to pharmacy education through their graduate-level scholarship support.

"These honorees represent the very best of our college's tradition of excellence," said Dean Stephen J. Cutler. "What sets these recipients apart is not just their professional accomplishments, but their unwavering commitment to lifting others. They have created pathways for the next generation of pharmacy professionals through their mentorship and philanthropy, and we are grateful for their dedication to our college's mission.”
