“I am very humbled to receive the CEC Outstanding Senior Award and honored that my professors would select me. It is due to their guidance and encouragement that I have been able to accomplish my goals and be successful.

The Civil and Environmental Engineering program has challenged me and developed my ability to problem solve, which I believe is very important to carry with me as I continue in graduate school and beyond. I am very grateful to be in a department that has passionate professors who leverage their knowledge and position to help students. I would like to specifically thank Dr. [Juan] Caicedo and Dr. [Inthuorn] Sasanakul for investing their time to provide opportunities for me to achieve my goals and continue to encourage me on my academic journey.”

“Earning the SCSPE award is a testament to the effort and long hours I have put into my undergraduate experience. It exemplifies that all the hard work is paying off, and my desire to gain knowledge continues to take me places I never imagined. I am truly honored and humbled to have been chosen to receive this award.

The civil and environmental engineering program and their phenomenal faculty have greatly contributed to the achievement of my personal goals. The faculty actively encourages students to engage in all curricular lessons to fully internalize the concepts. The educational environment encourages students to ask any questions to foster your knowledge on topics. Dr. [Dimitris] Rizos went above and beyond for me by not only providing academic support and guidance in the classroom, but he also reached out to a senior geotechnical engineer on my behalf. This thoughtful gesture provided me with an opportunity to excel in a professional setting. Without this support, I wouldn't be the experienced and well-rounded individual that I am now.”
