Engagement Details

South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Student Division

What to Expect

FBA Student Division differs from the USC Law SBA. The Student Bar Association (SBA) acts as the legislative, governing, and social organizers of the students of the law school. FBA is specifically geared towards federal practice for law students. Federal practice is a separate practice than state practice. The National Federal Bar Association designates Student Divisions at ABA Accredited Law Schools to work with state chapters to further federal practice, mentorship, and interaction with federal judges and practitioners. FBA Student division is wholly focused on preparing USC Law students to enter the federal practice upon graduation. Our membership focuses on the nuance of federal practice, the separate federal rules for both civil and criminal court, and practice in federal appellate courts.

Registered Student Organization (RSO): student organizations that are independent legal entities from the University, have no delegated authority from the University, and do not perform functions on behalf of the university.

Term: Ongoing
