My most impactful college experience was taking an Honors College course on the intersections of science, religion and philosophy. This class really forced me to confront and contemplate my beliefs, and profoundly shaped the rest of my college career.

Career plans: I have accepted a position as a Nuclear Reactor/Refueling Operations Engineer with Naval Nuclear Laboratory, where I will train Naval Officers on the mechanics and principles of Nuclear Reactor Operation.

UofSC Story: I took a class sophomore year with Dr. Buxhoeveden, which really helped me expand my worldview and critically examine my religious beliefs. Since then, I have come to consider him a close friend and continue to keep in touch to this day. I cannot recommend his classes enough; for me, his classes were what inspired me to pursue a minor in religious studies and potentially consider a later return to academia to pursue a higher degree in religion.

Most impactful experience: My most impactful college experience was taking a Honors College course on the intersections of science, religion and philosophy. This class really forced me to confront and contemplate my beliefs and profoundly shaped the rest of my college career.

Best part of the Top Scholars program: I have enjoyed the community and fellowship the Top Scholar Program provides, as well as the professional support and career development tools provided.
