Career plans: I plan to take a gap year to work as a medical scribe before attending MUSC.

UofSC story: When I first came to UofSC, I was convinced that I wanted to go into research and get my Ph.D. While I have met some amazing professors that do vital research, my experience working outside of the classroom with Indie Grits to help other people in combination with a psychology class with Dr. Watson centered on clinical diagnoses and treatment convinced me that practicing medicine is the path I'm meant to take. UofSC has given me the resources, connections and inspiration to follow this path, and I'll value and carry the lessons that I've learned for the rest of my life. Thanks to incredible professors, I've seen time and time again the value of hard work and exactly how to apply it to my passions.

Most impactful experience: My volunteering with Indie Grits through my Women and Gender Studies class showed me how much passion I have for helping others, and it really cemented my desire to work in a field that allows me to directly impact other people's lives.

Best part of being a Top Scholar: I enjoy being able to connect with other like-minded individuals who have similar passions and drive that I do.
