This program provides funding for individual doctoral students who conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months.
Projects deepen research knowledge on and help the nation develop capability in areas of the world not generally included in U.S. curricula. Projects focusing on Western Europe are not supported.
Please note: Fulbright Hays Doctoral Dissertation Awards can only be submitted by the University’s Office of Sponsored Awards Management. Please contact Beth Herron at firstname.lastname@example.org or Richard White (after June 25, 2018) at email@example.com, at least 30 days (or as soon as possible) before the deadline date to indicate your intent to apply for this program, and to review the procedures and requirements for applications.
Also: Current graduate students applying for the Fulbright Hays must also complete the USC Study Abroad Application due to the Study Abroad Office. If awarded grant, at least 30 days prior to departure you must complete the relevant Study Abroad Application found at the link to Forms and Applications, and then Graduate/Professional Students at sc.edu/studyabroad
Provides an average of $33,000 of support for up to one year of dissertation research abroad.
