About this Fellowship

This program provides a one-time award to students in their third year of medical school who have demonstrated leadership in eliminating inequalities in medical education or health care.

Deadlines are typically in April, but be sure to check the competition website for the current cycle’s deadline.

Five scholarships are given to outstanding students who have shown leadership in efforts to eliminate inequities in medical education and health care and have demonstrated leadership efforts in addressing educational, societal, and health care needs of racial and ethnic minorities in the United States.

MD/PhD candidates are eligible when they enter their third year of their medical program. Campus nomination from the medical school's dean or dean's designee is required.


Award Value

Recipients receive a $5,000 scholarship.
