About this Fellowship

Enables students in graduate degree programs in the history of art, architecture, interior design, and the decorative arts to travel to London to pursue research projects related to any aspect of the work of Sir John Soane or Sir John Soane's Museum and its collections.

In order to be eligible, an applicant must be enrolled in a graduate degree program in the history of art, architecture, the decorative arts, interior design or in a field appropriate to the Foundation’s purpose.

Please note: Current graduate students applying for the Traveling Fellowship must also submit information to the Education Abroad Office at least 30 days prior to departure. See their website for more information.

Deadlines are typically in March, but be sure to check the competition website for the current cycle’s deadline.


Award Value

Two awards of $5,000 are presented annually.
