About this Fellowship
Awards assistantships for graduate study leading to research-based masters or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. This fellowship will provide up to $16,000, to be matched by the host institution for a total of $32,000.
Fellowship money awarded by the SC Space Grant Consortium will be administered through the your institution’s Grants and Sponsored Programs Offices.
Fellowship recipients are also required to participate in at least one Outreach/Public Engagement activity event during the award period. SC Space Grant participates in many events each year, and fellows may join at any time. Past events include the Charleston STEM festival, Camp Happy Days Summer camp, and the NASA STEM Expo.

Awards for study and research in the sciences or in engineering leading to master's or doctoral degrees in the mathematical, physical, biological, engineering, behavioral and social sciences, and in the history and philosophy of sciences. Three-year annual stipend of $37,000, plus $16,000 cost of education allowance for tuition and fees, for students pursuing graduate education. Usable over 5 years.
South Carolina Space Grant Consortium Palmetto Student Academy
Paid summer internship in NASA-related research, including travel costs for attending the opening summit and closing finale for all NASA SCSGC participants. Students will receive an $8,000 ($7,500 + $500 housing) stipend for their participation in the Palmetto Academy program.
