Duo Security is a multifactor authentication service that provides additional security for access to university and personal data. Students, faculty and staff use Duo Security for websites with confidential information and for Office 365 applications such as Outlook for Email. Duo offers several options for authenticating users. Here are three reasons why you should use the Duo App:

1. Your time is valuable. The app provides virtually instant access, whereas the calling and texting options take more time to complete.
2. Keep it simple. The app requires one step … simply push the green checkmark to confirm, or the red “X” to decline. You don’t have to complete any added steps requiring an extra security code.
3. Use less data. The amount of data used to load one webpage is equal to 100 DUO pushes.
