Students and employees are encouraged to always use USCfacstaff or USCstudent
The Division of Information Technology is working to improve wireless internet across campus. Part of the improvements include limiting access to the USCGuest wireless portal to individuals who are truly guests on campus. A time limit will be placed on the amount of time an individual remains logged into the guest portal, similar to practices at retail locations such as coffee shops, shopping malls, and grocery stores. Students and employees are encouraged to use USCfacstaff and USCstudent, which are secure portals. They will remain logged into these portals unless they choose to disconnect.
In January, a pilot of the new USCGuest portal began in Thomas Cooper Library. Any student or employee using USCGuest at Thomas Cooper will have a time restraint on their wireless connection. This can be eliminated by simply accessing either the USCfacstaff or USCstudent networks. Simply enter your Network Username (first part of your email address) and password.
If you have questions about this pilot at Thomas Cooper, please contact the Service Desk at (803) 777-1800 or review this article on Managing Network Username and password.
