Palmetto Poison Center
The Palmetto Poison Center dispenses free poison and toxicology advice to South Carolina residents and health professionals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and our pharmacy students help provide this important community service.

Palmetto Experiential Education Program
The Experiential Education Program provides approximately one-third of a student’s total pharmacy education, and is the backbone of the Doctor of Pharmacy program.
SmartState Center for Translational Cancer Therapeutics
The Translational Cancer Therapeutics Program goal is the discovery of new drug targets and development of novel drugs and approaches for the treatment of cancer.
SmartState Center for Medication Safety
Our focus is to study the effects of prescription and over-the-counter medications, particularly on children and the elderly.
Walker Leader Scholar Program
The program's mission is to provide high capacity pharmacy student leaders the opportunity to accelerate their leadership development through experiential learning and mentorship.
Centers & Programs
Because hands-on research and real-world experience are at the heart of the health professions, our pharmacy students are offered an array of learning opportunities through our partnership with centers which focus on topics as diverse as targeted theraputics and pharmacuetical entrepreneurship. Applying theory to real world issues in conjunction with industry and University faculty, our students are well-equipped to meet the professional demands of their respective careers. There are currently six research centers within the College of Pharmacy.
