26 alumni, faculty, staff, friends of the College of Pharmacy and even parents joined in on the college’s inaugural Virtual 5K Rxun and Walk from September 1 -7. Runners and walkers hailed from South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and New York, and everyone participated in their own way, whether they were running and walking outside, on a treadmill, during a Peloton class, even with CrossFit Soda City.
Living outside of South Carolina makes it difficult to connect to the college, but virtual events make it a lot easier.

Josh Rickard, 2015 Pharm.D., Senior Director of Ambulatory Care (CDTM) Clinical Pharmacy at NYC Health + Hospitals, enjoys virtual events such as this. “Living outside of South Carolina makes it difficult to connect to the college, but virtual events make it a lot easier,” he says.
Funds raised from registration fees will support the Pharmacy Carolina Fund which provides immediate and important support to the college’s greatest needs from scholarships and fellowships to student organizations, beyond the classroom learning opportunities and initiatives to support new student recruitment and alumni engagement.
