What's your favorite thing about Columbia?

I love the wide variety of things to do in Columbia. Some of my favorite things are Soda City on Saturdays, trying new coffee shops in the area, and walking the Riverwalk with my friends.

What are your hobbies or things you like to do?

My favorite things to do are to go to the beach and out on the boat. I grew up with a dad who loves to fish and crab, so I spent most of my childhood on the water. I also love to travel; it allows me to see and explore so many new places!

What has surprised you the most about Nursing school?

One thing that surprised me most about the nursing school is how close you get to your fellow peers. As a nursing student, you will have a lot of the same people in most of your classes, so you get to build a small community within your major!

What is an accomplishment in [college] that you are very proud of?

One of my biggest accomplishments in college is balancing all the different aspects of being a student! I have greatly improved my time management skills since high school, allowing me to be successful in my courses while having fun outside of school.

Why did you choose USC?

When I toured USC in high school, I still had no idea where I wanted to go to school or even what I wanted to major in. During my tour, I fell in love with the beautiful campus and the school spirit. Upon further research, I learned about USC’s amazing academic resources and decided this was the right fit for me.

What advice would you give incoming students?

My advice to students is to enjoy the little things and celebrate the small accomplishments in school! It can be overwhelming and easy to get bogged down with schoolwork, but I find that when I appreciate what’s around me it’s much easier to maintain a positive attitude.
